The levels themselves (Aside from Darklight Depths) feel the most fleshed-out and eventful out of any game. The only strategies that can trivialise some levels are Mage Spam if you spend all your stars on upgrading mages, but that doesn't work on levels with magic resistant enemies or Wasp Missile Spam with Mechas if you invest all your stars in artillery, but that's expensive to set up, and some of the later levels have enemies immune to artillery or only damageable with magic or true damage. Every other tier 4 tower upgrade in this game feels really powerful while not being able to be used as a crutch to get a free pass through tough sections of the game.
